Countless hours of planning and thousands of tiny details go into making the perfect wedding day. While there are plenty of things to remember, here are 10 things you can’t forget for your big day.

1. Establish a plan for the day

The more organized you are for your wedding day, the better. From getting ready to set up to break down, it’s critical that you have a plan for how everything will happen. Not only will this ensure you aren’t tight on time, it will help make sure you don’t forget anything.

Even if you have an event coordinator or day-of planner, you’ll need a plan. However, they’ll likely help you out with the process!

2. Plan for event lighting

Whether indoor or outdoor, you’ll need to remember to create the right ambiance. Try visiting your venue at night so you know how the lighting will look after the sun sets. Wedding event lighting is the perfect way to customize a space for your wedding’s theme and your personality as a couple.

3. Get the perfect photos

Make sure you don’t forget any of the photos you want to have from your wedding day by making a list for the photographer. Specifically, outline exactly what family, friends, and bridal party images you want to have taken. That way, you won’t forget anyone or waste time by trying to think of the photos you need in the moment.

In addition, if you want flat lay photos that include your invitation, rings, bouquet, etc., be sure to have the items on hand and ready for your photographer to shoot.

4. Take care of your vendors

Plan in advance to have cash or checks ready for any vendors that you must make final payment or tips to. Your best bet? Identify a trustworthy person to do this job so you can focus on your big day.

Feed your vendors who work during the event, such as the photographer(s). Plan to have a few extra meals with your caterer so there is plenty of food available for any vendors.

If you had a great experience with a vendor, thank them! A local review on Google or Facebook can go a long way for a business, so be sure to share the love if you’re happy with the service.

5. Don’t forget the little (important) things

There are plenty of small items you’ll need to remember and pack the day of your wedding. For example, if you choose to have something old, new, borrowed, and blue.

But what about other must-haves? Your marriage certificate, for example, will need to be at your ceremony for your officiant to make things official. You’ll also need other things, such as your phone charger, passport (and other honeymoon gear) if necessary, and guestbook and pens if you choose to have one.
