Outdoor events often combine the beauty of nature with the comfortable appeal of modern conveniences. No where can this be seen more than with restrooms. (After all, even a backyard barbeque benefits from a little touch of indoor plumbing.)

Many outdoor event spaces don’t give event goers access to public washrooms or even portable toilets, so it’s up to the event planner to take care of it. But renting a luxury restroom isn’t always cut and dry, so here are four things to consider when renting a restroom trailer.

1. Rentals should match the event.

Many outdoor events are still very sophisticated, so the event rentals should follow suit. Don’t send your guests to a porta potty dressed in their Sunday best for your classy and professional outdoor event. Instead, all of your event rentals should follow the overall theme and feeling of your event.

In short: a classy event needs classy restrooms.

2. Consider the size.

Renting a two-stall bathroom trailer for a 500-person event probably isn’t going to cut it; just like having trailers with 10 restrooms would be overkill for a 50-person family affair.

Think about the size of your party in comparison to the size of restrooms available. Your vendor of choice will also be able to help give you clear recommendations. (Contact us at Sperry to help with your New England event.)

3. Think about logistics.

Restrooms don’t simply mean a bathroom; they’re also a place for your guests to wash their hands and freshen up. If you’re serving food, it’s crucial to give your guests (and your vendors) a place to wash their hands with soap and clean water. Other portable toilet options likely won’t have running water or mirrors inside for your guests’ comfort.

4. Plan ahead.

Your event space will designate the type of restroom trailer rental it’s able to accommodate, so be sure to speak with your contact early about what space, hookups, and access is available.

Additionally, event rentals can potentially go fast, depending on the season. It’s important to plan ahead by getting your rental on the books with a vendor.

Don’t forget about these four considerations before renting a restroom trailer for your outdoor event. And if you’re planning your party in New England, give us a call at Sperry Tents Seacoast!
