New England Pine Laydown Flooring at Wedding

Imagine you’re at an outdoor event. Now look down. Are you looking at grass? Or a beautiful lay down floor

While they’re often the foundation of any great outdoor event, flooring often goes unnoticed or forgotten. The reality is high quality flooring makes for a far more comfortable, safe way to enjoy an outdoor wedding or party.

Here are five considerations to make with outdoor event flooring:

  1. Floor plan
  2. Safety
  3. Visibility
  4. Design and decor
  5. Unique flooring

1. Floor Plan

Do you have a large headcount coming to your event? Or is it a smaller, more intimate group? How do you plan to arrange tables and chairs? Where will the stage, band, and/or DJ go? What walkways, entrances, and exits make sense for the venue?

All of these questions will help you determine the floor plan for your outdoor event. Of course, when it comes to flooring, the floor plan is crucial. With it, you’ll be able to determine how large (or how small) flooring areas will be and how they’ll be set up.

2. Safety

Very rarely are outdoor venues perfectly flat. That means there’s always a concern for twisted ankles, tripping, and falls…and that’s before considering those guests in high heels. Heeled shoes add a whole other element to the mix with getting stuck in the grass or landscaping.

Instead, flooring offers your guests the ability to be safe and worry-free when it comes to your outdoor event terrain.

3. Visibility

None of your guests want to be left stuck in the back of the event tent jumping up and down to see what’s going on or trying to sneak to the front to see the podium or band.

If your band, MC, presentation, or speaker need to be viewed from all angles, a bandstand or a stage is a great way to elevate your talent so it can be seen by everyone.

4. Design & Decor

With so many designs and event themes to choose from, considering yours will help you choose the right flooring for your event.

Do you have a dark and dreamy event style that a black dance floor would go perfectly with? Or do you have a classic theme that calls for a beautiful light oak? Ensure your flooring choice matches your theme for a cohesive look.

5. Unique Flooring

If you’re renting a unique venue or are looking for a unique flooring setup, find a vendor who will work with you to create something spectacular.

For instance, you may want a deck surrounding your tent or floor covering (like astroturf). Depending on the type of event or the surrounding space, the sky may be the limit for what you can create. Find the right vendor to partner with to make your dreams come to fruition!

Use these five considerations when it comes to your event flooring and you’ll be glad you took the time to do it!
