Winter weddings offer couples plenty of benefits that you simply won’t get with summer or fall weddings. One free decor element? A beautiful white, snowy backdrop.

It doesn’t end there, though. Winter weddings are perfect for other inexpensive decor. Here are 5 ideas for your low cost winter wedding decorations.

1. Outdoor winter decorations

Look no further than the great outdoors for beautiful, inexpensive table and venue decor for your big day. From pinecones to painted leaves to cranberries to well-placed fir tree boughs, you can quickly and easily create a gorgeous indoor winter wonderland for your ceremony and reception.

2. Simple chair decor

Stand out as Mr. and Mrs. with unique chair designs. You dressed up for your big day, so why not your chairs? Stick with your outdoor finds (like tip #1 above) or try some simple wreaths, DIY sparkly “Mr.” and “Mrs.” signs, or tied ribbons. The sky’s the limit when it comes to creative chair decor.

3. Winter inspired drinks

Go all-in with your winter theme with a speciality cold weather drink bar for your guests. Stay cozy and warm all night long with hot beverages like tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and hot apple cider. You can even offer cocktails like mulled wine. (Don’t forget your inexpensive winter decor around the table!)

4. Lights and trees

Take some strategically placed large sticks (or small leafless trees) and stand them upright to look like trees, then string with simple string lighting. (You can also include some ornaments if you’re having a holiday wedding.) This simple and inexpensive decor will create a winter wonderland in no time, no matter what your venue.

5. White candles and DIY holders

Nothing says winter like even more subtle lighting: candles! You can pick up plenty of cheap candles and either leave plain throughout your venue, aisle, and/or ceremony space; or decorate in your own unique way. Decorate DIY candle holders with glitter, etch glass candle holders with snowflakes, or surround candles with ornaments to make them your own!

Winter weddings can have both beautiful and inexpensive decor when you use your imagination and get creative. Try these five ideas if you’re planning on a winter wonderland for your big day!
