Hosting a big event or a fancy wedding? When planning which venue to choose for the big day, you may run into some issues. Mainly, some venues don’t contain enough restrooms to handle your expected attendees. The first thing that might come to your mind when you think temporary bathrooms are probably standard porta potties. Standard porta potties work fine in most instances, but maybe not your black-tie event or wedding day. That’s where luxury restroom trailers come in.

Considering a Luxury Restroom Trailer?

Luxury restroom trailers are basically fancy porta potties. They come standard with amenities such as flushing toilets, running water hand washing sinks, wood flooring, and even heating and air conditioning! They also come in a range of sizes to fit all events.

Now that you know your perfect portable restroom alternative exists, you may be wondering what is required to run one of these luxury restroom trailers? There are a few requirements you’ll need to have a fully functioning restroom trailer for your event or wedding. We’ll walk you through the standard requirements to make sure you’re ready on the big day.

Flat Accessible Surface

Once you have your venue nailed down for your event or wedding, you’ll want to speak with the venue about placement for your luxury restroom trailer. This is where we come to our first bathroom trailer requirement, a flat accessible surface. What do we mean by flat and accessible surface? There are a few things to think about when you’re deciding on the perfect placement for your luxury restrooms.

These luxury restroom trailers do require a flat surface in which it can be placed. It doesn’t have to be a paved driveway, but it does need to be flat enough where the trailer won’t lean to one side. Making sure you have flat surface for trailer placement will help the trailer operate how it’s supposed to.

The next thing to consider is that your trailer will have to be brought in by a truck. This means either placing your bathroom trailer on the driveway of the venue, or the truck will be driving on the grass. Check with your venue to see if they have any policies about rental placements.

Your location will have to be accessible to our drivers, but also you’ll want to ensure the trailer is accessible to your guests. You might think that placement on the driveway of your venue is the best spot. However, if it’s too far from where your actual event is taking place, it might be a pain to get to. Work with your venue to find the best middle ground between their priorities and the priorities of your guests.

Electricity

The next required item to operate a luxury restroom trailer is electricity. Electricity is required to run things like the heating, air conditioning, pumps and electrical lights.

Now the amount of electrical circuits required for your restroom trailer really depends on the trailer that you rent. For instance, our Prestige restroom trailer requires one 120V 20Amp circuit, and our much larger Onyx Ultima restroom trailer requires four 110V 20Amp circuits.

So what to do if your venue doesn’t have electricity available? If your venue doesn’t have the required amount of electricity available, or they don’t have electricity at all, there is a work around. You can rent portable generators to connect to your luxury restroom trailer. Your sales representative can help you pick which restroom trailer that best fits your event and help you make sure you have the electricity required.

Water Source

The final thing that’s required to run your luxury restroom trailer is a water source. We’re not talking about a city water hook-up or anything crazy. All you really need to run your luxury restroom trailer is a water spigot and garden hose.

Don’t have a water spigot at your venue? Not a problem either. You can rent water-holding tanks that get set right by the restroom trailer. These large 500-gallon water tanks will be delivered and filled with fresh water that you trailer will use to operate.

There you have it! That’s all you’re going to need to operate a luxury restroom trailer. If you have a flat and accessible space, electricity and a water source you have everything you need. Even if you don’t have the electricity and water spigot on site, those things can be substituted with generators and portable water tanks.
