Fall is here and that means the temperature is cooler, the nights are longer, and pumpkin spice is in the air. There’s just something a little extra special about autumn, and fall weddings are no different.

In fact, it should come as no surprise that October is the most sought-after month to have a wedding. The weather is just starting to cool off, and it hasn’t gotten too cold in most states throughout the US.

The beautiful weather also brings an abundance of gorgeous scenery and foliage. That means there are a lot of unique elements you can add to your wedding or special event this autumn.

Here are some great tips to help you and your guests “fall in love” with your wedding:

1. Invitations

Start setting the mood right away with your wedding invitation for your fall wedding. Choose from a warm pallet of fall colors and add elements of nature.

2. Comfortable Lounge

Nothing says fall like a cozy lounge area for your guest to partake in cocktails and appetizers. Prior to the reception — when most couples like to take wedding party photos and give guests a cocktail hour — use the opportunity to make your guests cozy and comfortable.

Set up rental furniture like couches and armchairs, along with cozy blankets and even space heaters if the night is going to be especially chilly. As an added bonus, make blankets available during the reception too!

3. Fall Textures & Colors

Plaid is the ultimate fall texture to incorporate into your wedding design. Consider adding simple hints of plaid in your table decor or your paper detail (such as your table cards, programs, napkins, or maybe a plaid table runner).

Don’t forget to incorporate a fall color palette, with deep reds, oranges, and browns.

4. Fall Foliage

This time of year, the landscape is filled with bright colored leaves and breathtaking foliage to incorporate into the decor. Your bridal bouquet can include fall flowers, like dahlias, sunflowers, and zinnias.

5. Other Natural Fall Elements

Similarly, other types of natural elements found during the autumn can make a big impact in your fall wedding. Simple branches can make for an elaborate statement in your table centerpieces or your ceremony arch.

6. Signature Cocktails

Every wedding should have a signature cocktail….and what about going with something that is perfect for the season? What better fall drink than a warm apple cider cocktail or a pumpkin beer?!

7. Seasonal Desserts

A different alternative or addition to a traditional wedding cake is to serve seasonal pies like apple and pumpkin. Guests will love the subtle hint of the season, as well as how fresh the pies are.

You can also try a s’mores bar. Self-served or pre-made s’more treats will have your guests remember their childhoods during chilly nights in front of the fire.

There are plenty of subtle ways to incorporate the autumn season into your big day. Try these 7 ideas for your fall wedding!
