In a time of economic downturn, one local business steps up to give back.
Michael Parkin, owner of Exeter Events and Tents, a local tent and event rental company has made a mark for himself not only as a fair and honest businessman, but also as a philanthropist. Helping those less fortunate is a belief that was instilled in Mr. Parkin by his parents. Supporting local charitable organizations is something that has been part of his core family values throughout his life and his business practices since he took over the company in 1987.
Recently, Mr. Parkin founded an annual event to honor and reward local charitable organizations through a contest, aptly named a “Quest to Reinvest.” According to Mr. Parkin, “the purpose of this contest is to show our thanks to local charities with our same values and show them our appreciation for their good work.”
