Exeter Events and tents is proud to have named “Run for the Fallen New Hampshire” the 2012 winner of our “Quest to Re-Invest” philanthropic giving back to the community through re-investment in our non-profit groups. We love this event because it is kid friendly, honors heroes, and teach valuable civic lessons that remind us what a great country in which we live. This will be a great day of fun on the Seacoast and I can’t wait to participate. I have included the events schedule and a link to the webpage for your review. I hope to see all of you out there this weekend.

Run or Walk any distance!
This is not a race with prize money for the fastest runner. This is a Run to honor NH’s Fallen Heroes and to let our Heroes’ families know we will never forget their loved one’s ultimate sacrifice.
The day will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Odiorne State Park in Rye, NH. We begin with a reading of the names of NH’s heroes followed by a 21 gun salute by the Marine Corps League and Color Guard Ceremony by The Civil Air Patrol.
The Run will begin and end at Odiorne Park. It’s a 12 mile run (loop) that has picture posters of each soldier along the route. Their families have the opportunity to stand next to their fallen hero.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO RUN OR WALK ALL 12 MILES! You can go as far as you like. There will be trolleys circling the course so you can run, hop a trolley, rest, re-hydrate and run or walk some more.
All runners and walkers will meet at the end of the run at the Odiorne Boat Dock. We finish the run as one…together in gratitude.
To ensure that we all finish as one, trolleys will pick up all runners after 2 hrs 45 minutes and bring you to the Boat Dock. There will be bathroom facilities, water/soda and snacks at the Boat Dock, as we wait for everyone to finish.
Back at the Park, once again food is provided by Carrabba’s. Families will receive free lunch. Runners and volunteers will have the opportunity to purchase their lunch in advance for $10. Entertainment will be provided back at the Park.
Some additional logistics:
Run Staff will be in red Run t-shirts this year, so you can find us if you need help.
Civil Air Patrol will manage traffic again for us. They are top notch! They are trained to provide emergency services.
There are 2 portable potties along the route and 1 potty at the Boat Landing meeting point where the Run ends.
The State Park has bathrooms and a swing-set area for kids. There is open space for additional play (frisbees, balls, kites…).
