Exeter Events and Tents Supports 3rd Annual Nubble Light Race Challenge to Benefit NAMI
EXETER, N.H., July 11, 2012–Exeter Events and Tents, northern New England’s finest event equipment rental company, has provided a significant rental discount on a sailcloth tent, tables and chairs to help keep participants and attendees cool and comfortable at the Third Annual Nubble Light Challenge, Saturday, July 14.
All event proceeds will benefit the Maine Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), specifically programs in the local area that help children and families affected by mental illness.
Bob Reed, Race Director for the Nubble Challenge, noted, “As a non-profit, we’re honored to generate funds for an important charity, but we also want to provide a great experience for the 155 swimmers and 60 kayaker escorts from around the country who participate in the event. Exeter Events and Tents has been very generous about giving us a good package. It means a lot, and is an important part of our participants really enjoying the atmosphere of a great day.”
This year’s event will include a USAT (USA Triathlon) sanctioned 2.4-mile swim race around the “Nubble” in York Beach, Maine. Swimmers will start on Long Sands Beach and continue out past the Nubble Lighthouse, one of the most photographed lighthouses in the U.S.; pass through the “gut,” the channel between the lighthouse island and the mainland; and finish with a swim sprint to Short Sands Beach. There will be food from local restaurants and awards following the race.
Through its Quest to Reinvest grant program, Exeter Events and Tents has awarded more than $20,000 in goods and services to over a dozen charitable and non-profit organizations throughout New Hampshire, down east Maine and northern Massachusetts this year.
Ashley Parkin, vice president of Exeter Events and Tents, said, “The opportunity to benefit the children and adults who are affected by mental illness could not be ignored. As past participants of many non-profit races, we know this event will be well attended and have a festival-like atmosphere; this grant is our way of ensuring that all participants will be comfortable and out of the hot sun.”
Exeter Events and Tents established the Quest to Reinvest grant program in 2011 to help organizations run community-based outreach events without the prohibitive costs of typical event rental goods and services. In 2012, the family-owned business expanded the program to include non-profits throughout Massachusetts and Maine, in addition to New Hampshire. Through Quest to Reinvest, Exeter Events and Tents has committed to donate or provide substantial discounts on tents, tables, chairs, dance floors, stages and other special event and party rental merchandise to help organizations run fundraising events for a wide variety of critical services and causes.
More than a dozen charitable and non-profit organizations throughout New Hampshire, down east Maine and northern Massachusetts were named grant recipients in 2012. For a complete listing, please visit www.exeterrent-all.com.
