Royal Wedding of Sultan of Brunei’s Daughter.

Held in September 2012, the royal wedding was held in a dazzling ceremony at the monarch’s 1,700 room palace. The fifth child of the Sultan and his wife, Queen Saleha, Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah, 32, and her groom Pengiran Haji Muhammad Ruzaini, 29, exchanged their vows in front of scores of gathered family and friends, royals and international dignitaries. The wedding festivities have included nightly vigils at the palace to bless the couple, but the monarchy swayed away from the traditional public procession through the capital in the royal family’s gilded Rolls Royce. An elaborate ceremony where the couple was presented to the royal court was the climax of the week-long wedding festivities. Southeast Asian leaders and foreign royalty join the royal family and VIPs at a lavish royal banquet hosted by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, the bride’s father.

Michael Jordan’s Wedding in a 40,000 square foot tent.

Michael Jordan married his girlfriend of five years, Yvette Prieto, in a jaw-dropping 40,000 square foot tent, said to be the largest tent in wedding history. The wedding tent is 5,000 square feet larger than their home. The popular basketball star and his new wife hosted more than 2,000 guests at their Palm Beach wedding.

Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana.

Contrary to rumors regarding an extravagant wedding in a paparazzi-crazed world of Hollywood, Janet Jackson’s wedding to Wissam Al Mana, a Qatari billionaire was as good as a secret wedding where none of the glitz and glamor of Hollywood was ever present. It was a quiet, private and beautiful wedding ceremony.

Amare Stoudemire and Alexis Welch.

The NY Knicks basketball star Amare Stoudemire and long-time girlfriend Alexis Welch got married on 12/12/12 at sunset on the roof deck of their NYC apartment. The ceremony has only 12 guests in attendance in keeping with the 12/12/12 theme.

David Cross and Amber Tamblyn.

Actress Amber Tamblyn got married to her longtime boyfriend, actor David Cross, in a stunning outdoor ceremony. The bride arrived in a canoe in her non-traditional yellow dress, barefoot, and carrying a bouquet of yellow flowers to match her gown. It’s a low key affair with just about 100 guests which included Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, Amy Poehler, Jason Ritter and Kristen Schaal.

Arun Nayar and Elizabeth Hurley.

Model-actress Elizabeth Hurley got married in 2007 to her Indian businessman fiancé in an extravagant double ceremony with festivities lasting eight days. The wedding took place in the medieval Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire with Elton John and designer Valentino in attendance. A second, traditional Hindu ceremony was held in the majestic Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India.

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren.

Golf great Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren got married in 2004 in a very private ceremony at the exclusive Sandy Lane Resort in Barbados. Woods rented the entire hotel and the island’s sole helicopter charter company to ensure privacy. There were about 120 guests including Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley, as the pair exchanged vows in a white-netted pagoda decorated with roses. Reception featured Hootie and the Blowfish and the night was capped off with a massive fireworks display.  The couple stayed in Wood’s yacht that night.
