Today’s post is the first in a series of stories featuring the winning non-profit organizations in the “Quest to Reinvest” philanthropic contest held this spring. This is a yearly contest event highlighting deserving non-profits and our commitment to help off-set the cost of putting on their various events held throughout the spring, summer and fall. We start by recognizing The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundations New England Chapter. We were able to help at two of their May events. “Take Steps be Heard” were walks held in Manchester, New Hampshire and Portland Maine raising money to find a cure. Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis exists in nearly 1 in every 200 people today. Chances that you know someone who suffers, is more likely than not. These diseases know no age limit, and the true cause is still unknown.

Allison Lodge is the dedicated community development manager for the New England Chapter and the organizer of the two walks we were so fortunate to be a part. The hope is that each walk will be able to raise $60,000.00. We encourage you to read about our local honored heroes at www.cctakesteps.org/maine and www.cctakesteps.org/newhampshire  and also learn a little more about their fundraising walks. We are also including this link to the events page so you can see all the different events available to our readers http://www.ccfa.org/chapters/?LMI=8. If you do decide to attend any of these events please let us know by sharing your experience on our Facebook or blog we look forward to the comments.
